I’m Mathilda Daniels, a professional freelance makeup artist. I graduated from the London College of Fashion with a First-Class Honours degree in Hair, Makeup and Prosthetics for Performance. I am currently based in London but I’m happy to travel wherever my work takes me.
I bring characters to life through makeup, hair and special effects, either from a script, a brief or from my own designs. I make prosthetics and custom hand-tied wigs through practical processes that involve casting, sculpting, knotting, moulding, colouring and more. I’m experimental and inventive, and my creations vary from polished realism effects, to elaborate metamorphic creatures. I have drawing skills in detailed realism portraiture and can visually interpret colour, form and texture from a photograph or from life, and accurately process, visualise and re-create what I see. My observational skills, attention to detail, colour matching, and steady hand are invaluable to my makeup practice.
